About This Experience

In Barossa Valley: The ride runs ninety minutes at a walking pace through the vineyards and trails around Jacob's Creek — long enough to settle into the saddle, take in the Barossa properly, and stop for photographs along the way. Hallmark Farm leads it. The stable is home to dual Olympian Megan Jones — Olympic silver medallist, World Championship bronze medallist at Aachen, and an Equestrian Hall of Fame member — and horses are matched to each rider's height, weight and experience before you set off. Back at the cellar door, a curated tasting of Jacob's Creek Limited Release wines follows, showing the regional character behind the label. Then a picnic for two is set up in one of the estate's outdoor spots: a rug, a platter of South Australian produce from Harvest Kitchen, and a bottle of your choosing, with proper glassware and a non-alcoholic option on request. Allow three and a half to four hours end to end. Riding is for ages 10 and up, minimum two guests, in long pants and closed-toe shoes with a small heel.

Cancellation Policy

Booking & Payment: Full payment is required at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. Guest Information: Guests must provide height, weight and riding experience at booking so horses can be matched safely; a riding-experience survey is also required. Age & Attire: Minimum age 10; riders under 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Long pants and closed-toe shoes with a small heel are required. Helmets and safety gear are provided. Weight Limit: For riders over 120kg, enquire first at book-events@jacobscreek.com. Fitness & Health: A reasonable level of fitness and mobility is needed. Not suitable while pregnant or with back or neck conditions — disclose any health concerns before booking. Minimum Numbers: A minimum of two guests is required for the experience to run. Cancellations by Guests: 72 hours' notice required. Cancellations inside 72 hours are non-refundable; changes inside 72 hours are at Jacob's Creek's discretion and incur a $75 per person administration fee. Contact ourhome@jacobscreek.com. Cancellations by Operator: The operator may cancel with no less than 2 hours' notice for operational or safety reasons, including weather. A reschedule or full refund is offered. Arrival: Arrive at least 20 minutes before the scheduled start for check-in and the safety briefing. Late Arrival: Arrivals more than 15 minutes late forfeit the booking with no refund; rescheduling that day is subject to availability and a $75 per person fee. No-Show Policy: Failure to attend without prior notice forfeits the booking with no refund. Liability Waiver: All participants must sign a liability waiver before the horse-riding component. Alcohol: Riders must have a BAC of 0.000 before riding; wine tasting and alcohol service occur after the ride. Dietary Requirements: Advise any dietary requirements at the time of booking. Weather Policy: In extreme weather the experience may be rescheduled or refunded at the operator's discretion. Personal Belongings & Photography: Guests are responsible for their belongings; photograph only when safe or as directed by the guide.
