Just 40 minutes south of Adelaide, McLaren Vale North sets rolling vineyards and valley-to-sea vistas against the Fleurieu coastline. This circuit collects you from the Adelaide CBD (Stamford Plaza Hotel, 150 North Terrace) at 10am, then gives you the region as if you were driving yourself. The wine list balances renowned Shiraz, Grenache and Cabernet Sauvignon with embraced newer varieties like Sangiovese and Barbera — big, bold reds remain the standout. Food options span grazing platters, casual cafes and bakeries, and more refined dining, or bring a picnic for one of the region's scenic winery grounds. Hop on or off along the trail at your own pace: linger at a cellar door, extend your lunch, and simply catch a later bus.
