About This Experience

In Bannockburn: Kiwi Journeys' Sojourn is the gentle version of the Lake Dunstan Trail, made for beginners and anyone who wants a slow day. From Cromwell you ride into the Heritage Precinct for a look around and a coffee, then follow the trail towards the Bannockburn Inlet, where the mountains, the vineyards and the old gold sluicings line up behind the water. From the inlet you choose: ride along Felton Road and taste at its cellar doors, wander the historic sluicings, or push on towards Cornish Point where the main trail starts to find its stride. Lunch is included, and the loop returns to Cromwell. Self-guided, 20 to 30 km at Grade 2, seven hours, two to twelve riders, from Freeway Orchard at 182 State Highway 8B. Children six to twelve ride at a lower rate.
