About This Experience

In Stellenbosch: Stellenbosch is 45 minutes from Cape Town, South Africa's largest wine region and its first official wine route, with more than 150 wineries. I & F runs the day privately: your accredited driver-guide collects you at 9:30, asks about your wine palate, and picks the three or four estates to match, each pouring a minimum of five award-winning wines. Between the estates there is the town itself: a drive down Dorp Street, the oldest street, lined with Cape Dutch and Victorian houses; Oom Samie se Winkel, the oldest general store; the university campus; and time to walk the tree-lined centre and its craft market. Lunch is on an estate with views over the vines or in town (own account). Wine-and-chocolate pairings, brandy tastings and Cap Classique sparkling tastings can be added on request. Private to your party of two to seven, back around 5:30 to 6pm; wine can be bought and shipped home. Rates are per person; tasting fees are paid on the day.
