This private Hunter Valley day trip runs entirely to your taste: once booked, you and the operator work out the wineries, departure time, pickups and dining together. Pickup from Sydney runs between 7 and 9am, and the drive to the Hunter takes roughly two and a half hours. Options include the award-winning vineyards of Mount View, overlooking most of the wine-growing region, and Pokolbin's famous names — Pepper Tree, McGuigan, Hungerford Hill, Audrey Wilkinson, Tyrrells, Oakvale and Brokenwood among them. Add cheese tasting, chocolate shops, distilleries or beer tasting as you like.
