About This Experience

A team of heavy horses and some of the best tour guides in the Hunter Valley take you through local backroads and vineyards from one tasting to the next — three venues over three hours, most offering private sit-down tastings where you'll learn how these wines are made. Venues depend on availability and may include Pokolbin Estate Winery, Tamburlaine Organic Wines, Vamp Lisa McGuigans Wines, Sobels Wines, the Pokolbin Village Smelly Cheese Shop and the Pokolbin Chocolate Shop. Carriages are fully covered with padded seats, and drop-down see-through curtains keep wet weather out — no last-minute cancellations. • Morning session 10:00am to 1:00pm, or afternoon session 1:30pm to 4:30pm • Meet at 426 McDonalds Road, Pokolbin (behind the Wine House), 30 minutes prior • Tastings at 3 venues • Transfers available for groups of 10 or more at $25 per person

HORSE DRAWN CARRIAGE CANCELLATION POLICY: General Terms: 72+ hours notice: No charge 72 - 48 hours notice: 25% of service fee charged 48 - 24 hours notice: 50% of service fee charged Less than 24 hours notice / same day cancellations / no shows: FULL amount will be charged. Any additional costs incurred by you or your group during the tour will be charged to the credit card provided at the time of booking. Conditions: Arrival time is 30 minutes prior to your scheduled activity. Late arrivals may result in reduced ride time or forfeiture of your booking, as time is required for check-in. All participants must complete the online waiver before arrival. This can be accessed through your confirmation email via the Smart Waiver link under the participant’s name. Any outstanding balance must be paid prior to activity, via cash or card. To find us, This tour departs from just behind the The Wine House Hunter Valley, located at: 426 Mcdonalds Rd, Pokolbin. Follow the driveway past The Wine House building until you see the carriages. If you do not see anyone when you arrive, please wait nearby - we won’t be far away. A text message will be sent to you with your meeting time. Transfers can be arranged for groups of 10 or more, at an additional $25 per person.
