About This Experience

Vines went into the Clare Valley in the early 1840s, and its warm summers cooled by afternoon breezes have made it renowned for world-class Riesling — with Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Semillon, Grenache, Tempranillo, Cabernet and Shiraz grown here too. Along the 40km corridor between Auburn and Clare sit more than 50 cellar doors, many Five-Star rated, including the beautiful and historic Sevenhill Cellars, still owned and run by Jesuit monks. History runs deep beyond the vines: National Trust-managed Martindale Hall (built 1879 and used in the film ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’), the slate town of Mintaro with its maze, and Burra’s heritage. Lunch options range from Skillogalee, Mr Mick and Terroir Auburn to genuine, welcoming country pubs and bakeries.
