A Place We Chose - The Ultimate Alkoomi Experience | Private — Great Southern
About This Experience
In Great Southern: Alkoomi means 'a place we chose' — the ground the family has called home since 1946, and one of the founding wineries of the Frankland River Region. This private experience tells that story on the land itself, as a progressive tasting through the farm. It starts at the winery, glass in hand, with insight into how the wine is made and a look at the original winery building from 1979. Then you climb into the ute: out past the old homestead and its enormous fig tree, to some of the first plantings and the best views on the property. • Winery visit with a glass in hand, at the original 1979 building • Ute tour of the farm — old homestead, enormous fig tree, first plantings • Progressive wine tasting right from the source • Private picnic among the grass trees with a bottle of wine and feast The finish is the slowest part: a private picnic set up among the grass trees, with a bottle of wine and a feast, and 1.5 hours to relax and unwind before you're collected back to the cellar door. Minimum two people per booking.

As this is a working farm, we recommend you wear closed in or sturdy shoes. You also may like to bring a hat and sunglasses. If the weather does not permit a picnic in the grass trees we will have a cozy set up by the fire.
