About This Experience
In Hunter Valley: Picnic in the Vines is Saddler's Creek's long lunch: long tables set in the picnic grounds at 15 Marrowbone Road, Pokolbin, the vineyard in front and the Brokenback Range behind, four unhurried hours. The afternoon opens with grazing platters, arancini, Chef Chiero's meatballs, Italian cheeses and cured meats, warm rosemary focaccia, then courses on shared platters, with whole porchetta cooked over the coals and carved live in the grounds. Live music runs through the afternoon. Every adult ticket includes six tasting tokens to spend across the Single Suitcase Italian varieties: Pecorino and Fiano among the whites, and the reds. Couples, groups of friends and anyone building a Hunter weekend are the crowd; under-18s eat at a reduced price.

CANCELLATION POLICY Bookings can be cancelled up to 7 days before the event, until Sunday 27th September 2026, for a full refund. Inside 7 days the booking is non-refundable, as final numbers are confirmed with the kitchen at that point. To change or cancel a booking, call the Cellar Door on 02 4991 1770.
