In Yarra Valley: No rush is the whole idea. Pick-up is around 9:30 so breakfast can be slow, and the first hour's drive to Grant's Picnic Ground in the Dandenong Ranges comes with the guide's stories of Melbourne and Australia. Morning tea is there, among the cockatoos you can feed (at your own cost). Then the Yarra Valley. The first winery is boutique, and the owners spend time with the group talking about their wines and their place; the second is a long-established family-owned estate for the day's second tasting. Good wine, good food and good company, at a relaxed pace. Nine hours with hotel pick-up; children under fourteen at a reduced rate. Lunch arrangements are confirmed at booking.
