About This Experience
Every wine on the Grapes for Good trail supports an animal at Monarto Safari Park, with part proceeds funding Zoos SA’s conservation work to save vulnerable species from extinction. This escorted three-day e-cycling safari rides the trail — then rides the park itself. Day 1: pickup from your accommodation and transfer to Birdwood, then 30km of easy riding on the sealed Amy Gillett Bikeway through the rolling hills, vineyards and paddocks of the Adelaide Hills — historic stone cottages, roadside cellar doors, a cafe lunch stop — arriving in Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest surviving German settlement, with time to explore the famous main street. Day 2: your guide transfers you to Langhorne Creek, winding by e-bike through the vineyards to the Grapes for Good wineries — Bremerton Wines, Kimbolton, Vineyard Road, The Wine House and Bleasdale Winery — then along the Bremer River to Lake Breeze for a picnic with sparkling Blanc de Blanc (swap to a red or white if you like). 15km of easy, flat riding; in winter or inclement weather the picnic becomes a three-course restaurant meal with a full wine tasting. Day 3: cycle Monarto Safari Park before the gates open — sunrise over the plains, rhinos, zebras and giraffe, breakfast at the waterhole platform with ingredients from the on-site Ngeragi ya:yun native food garden, then Lions 360, Australia’s only 360-degree lion encounter, and lunch at the Visitor Centre Cafe before your return to the city. 15km, easy-moderate.
