1837 Barossa: 1-Hour Wine Experience - History Movie, Wine Tasting Like a Pro, 4 Reserve Tastings
About This Experience
In Barossa Valley: The 1837 Barossa commemorates the date Colonel William Light — founder of Adelaide and first Surveyor-General of South Australia — named the Barossa in December 1837. A life-size bronze of Colonel Light on horseback and the iconic Barossa Manor honour the birthplace of the Barossa on the estate. Your hour starts with a short movie on the naming of the Barossa and the history of Colonel Light and the 1837 Barossa winery, followed by professional wine-appreciation tuition and a guided tasting of four reserve wines, including sparkling. On the way out, visit the Colonel Light Monument with its full 360-degree views, walk the 1837 Barossa Art Trail past colourful sculptures including the 'Wings of Barossa', and grab a final photo at the supersized baroque picture frame or the 12m-long BAROSSA sign. Runs Wednesday to Sunday for 1-12 participants; transfers and take-home wine are not included, and dietary requirements should be advised at booking. • Short movie: the naming of the Barossa and the story of Colonel Light • Wine appreciation — professional tasting tuition • Guided tasting of 4 reserve wines including sparkling • Colonel Light Monument and the 1837 Barossa Art Trail
